# Parent domains I can use to embed Twitch?

Hello! I’ve gotta submit a school project in a few weeks, which involves me making a portfolio website in the form of an html file. On it I plan to embed a Twitch window, but I need a parent domain to host it. Does anyone know of a domain I could use? Thanks!

For embeds’ the parent is the domain of the URL that your website is hosted on.

So this needs to be a “real” domain not a `file://` url

if you can’t host it on a URL than you will have to note that the embed fails due to it being on a `file://`

Correct

Embeds only work correctly on `https` and `localhost`
