It’s a bit dramatic to say it’ll render every clip tool out there useless, not everyone needs vod offset.
Secondly, I believe it’s been stated (and I’ll see if I can find a reference to it) that if a feature from v5 isn’t in Helix already (or in the migration guide explicitly stating it will be) to expect it not to be available in Helix when v5 is deprecated. So you will have to plan your apps accordingly without this functionality.
