Is this a Prime subscription? My best guess is that their Prime subscription has expired, but the token to resubscribe hasn’t renewed yet. Thus, they still have the subscriber badge (subscriber/0) but the backend sees them as a non-sub (subscriber=0). Curious if that’s the case.
