Thanks @WLG3R, this is a common request, and I would appreciate votes to the existing UserVoice Barry has referenced here. It would definitely make extension development easier, but represents some significant challenges in many domains, so I don’t see this materializing in the short term, but it’s always valuable to characterize the popularity of the request with UserVoice votes!
