Does twitch split up the chat users into separate instances?

Hello there,

I had a question about the irc chat system that twitch uses. When an audience reaches a really large number… do you think that they split up the chat somehow? ( for load balancing i mean )

I would like to create a fun little bot for my stream that my users can play games with and whatnot, but i’m worried that if the feed becomes popular, then some users wont get the opportunity to play with it.

With the exception of some event channels (riotgames, sgdq, etc.) all chats are on the same system and not split.
