Just a reminder to everyone on this thread.

You only need to get whitelisting for your bot, IF your bot is having problems Whispering.

As Twitch are tweaking the algo thats tripping us up.

How and where do I get my bot “whitelisted” as some of my viewers now start reporting problems too… they send a whisper command to my bot… but get no answer. When I look into the program, I see my bot respond to them, but yeah, they get nothing on their end.

Hi all,

We’ve vetted and added bots up to this point that have experienced issues. It can take 24 hours to kick in (adding them
doesn’t remove current blocks, it prevents new ones).

Could you maybe publish the exact rate limits for the whisper/group server? It seems like some bots still get “banned from whispers” even tho they should be in your whitelist. is 3 per second and max 100 per minute still accurate?

Thats not the problem that we are hitting.

None of us are hitting the rate limits, we are hitting some sort of “you appear to be sending a lot of messages that are identical you look like a spam bot” thing

Well whats causing the “this user has been banned from receiving whispers” issue then? It’s not permanent either. Plus I just asked for rate limits since the bot should have been whitelisted but its still facing the same issue, it’s following the rate limits tho. All I’m saying is that something is still not right.

Hi,

I’ve looked at bots, and added them to our whitelist from this thread to this point. Please allow for 24 hours in case you are currently blocked.

@cheeseasian We employ several different automated methods to blocking spambots. Some are extremely naive such as per second rate limits, and some look at other details that may not be obvious. As bad as “security through obscurity” can be, we feel not publishing these on a public forum is in everyone’s best interest.
